Do I need to have booked with House of Social to refer friends?

Yes. You must have paid your booking fee and secured your room before you’re eligible to refer friends and earn rewards.

Who can refer friends?

Any current House of Social resident or anyone who has booked for the 2026/27 academic year is eligible to refer friends.

Can I refer more than one friend?

Absolutely! You can refer as many friends as you like. The more you refer, the more you earn.

How many rewards can I get?

Rewards start at £200 each for your first referral. Cashback amounts increase with more referrals:

  • Group of 2 (you + 1 mate) → £200 each
  • Group of 3 (you + 2 mates) → £300 each
  • Group of 4 (you + 3 mates) → £400 each
  • Group of 5 (you + 4 mates) → £500 each
  • Group of 6 (you + 5 or more mates) → £600 each (maximum reward)

You can refer unlimited friends, but the maximum reward per person is £600.

Do I still get my reward if my friend cancels?

No. Cashback is only paid once your friend has successfully booked and checked in. If your friend cancels or doesn’t check in, the reward will be void.

Do I need to pay my booking fee before referring?

Yes. You need to have paid your booking fee and secured your room before you can receive cashback.

How will I receive my cashback?

We’ll confirm your payment method before sending your reward. Cashback is typically paid via PayPal – a secure global payment platform.

When will I receive my cashback?

Referral payments are made in October and November.

How do I refer my friends and what can I earn?

Referring is simple. Just follow these 4 easy steps:

  1. Check your friend is happy to be contacted by us.
  2. Complete the referral form with your details, your friend’s details, and your building name.
  3. Our team will contact your friend to complete their booking.
  4. Once all criteria are met, you’ll both receive your cashback by November.

Referral rewards breakdown:

1 friend → £200 each

2 friends (Group of 3) → £300 each

3 friends (Group of 4) → £400 each

4 friends (Group of 5) → £500 each

5+ friends (Group of 6+) → £600 each (maximum reward per person)

I’m no longer living at House of Social. Can I still refer friends?

Yes, you can still refer your friends. However, you’ll no longer be eligible for cashback rewards, but you will be helping them find the best student accommodation on the market.

What are the rules for referring a friend?

To qualify for cashback:

  • You must have booked to stay during 2025/26 or 2026/27.
  • Your friend must book within 28 days of being referred.
  • Their stay must be at least 44 weeks for the 2026/27 academic year.
  • The person you refer must not already be on our database.
  • Rewards are paid after both of you check in (not as a License Fee discount).
  • If either of you doesn’t check in, the cashback is void.
  • Maximum reward: £600 per person.
  • Temporary promotions may increase these amounts.
