Mughli is a family run, second generation Indian soul food restaurant, which first opened its doors on Manchester’s iconic Curry Mile back in 1991 by ‘Uncle Peter’, or ‘Pops’ to his family. Since then they have been serving generations of regulars, customers who visited as children now grown and bringing in their own.
Following Uncle Peter’s death in 2009, the business has been run by his sons, who have firmly kept the business on the map as one of the go-to places to eat in the city. After more than 30 years of business, they are getting ready to open their first city centre location – and we’re buzzing to announce that Mughli will be one of the first kitchens to call us home.
Bringing all the flavours, spice and ambiance they’re famed for to House of Social, Mughli will be taking inspiration from their original menu at their flagship restaurant on Wilmslow Road, as well as crowd pleasers from their various pop ups and collaborations over the years. In the kitchen they aim to bring their Indian Soul Food of grilled meats and home style curries to the new operation.
They have earned their stripes in the city as a go-to dining destination, having formerly been recognised as “One of Manchester’s best restaurants” and “One of Manchester’s best places to eat” by The Telegraph and BBC Good Food Guide respectively. They also earned a nomination as Manchester’s Curry Restaurant of the Year at the first ever Manchester Curry Awards last year.
“We’ve always had a lot of love from Manchester city centre throughout the years, and it’s great to be able to bring it home to House of Social”. Shaz ~ one of the four brothers behind Mughli.
Bringing the flavour game to a whole new level. We can’t wait to open our doors this summer!
